Must:
- Development experience utilizing Java, .NET (C#, VB .NET), and scripting languages
- Proficient in .NET Framework technologies and tools (Visual Studio, WCF, WebServices)
- Understanding of Microsoft Windows architecture
- Experience in relational database development, including SQL and T-SQL
- Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse
- Knowledge of code management and change tracking tools (e.g., Git, IBM Rational Synergy)
- Expertise in Object-Oriented Software Development
- Familiarity with data access patterns and practices
- Understanding of multi-threaded, high-availability, and high-performance applications
- Experience with Unit Testing Frameworks and Principles
- Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Design and coding experience using a Model Driven Architecture
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience in creating development-level documentation (detailed designs, defect write-ups, analysis, solution proposals, test plans, test results)
- Knowledge of refactoring techniques and experience in maintaining legacy code
Responsibilities
- Conduct investigation and analysis as dictated by project or product requirements and specifications
- Plan work and implement solutions utilizing standard engineering principles and company procedures to ensure project deadlines are met
- Exercise sound judgment in software development, making necessary adaptations or alterations
- Provide workload estimates and strategize development efforts to meet quality, reliability, and performance objectives
- Evaluate the impact of changes on existing systems and propose risk mitigation strategies
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues, providing necessary technical support
- Offer technical feedback and guidance to team members involved in system design and implementation
- Engage in knowledge transfer and technology sharing initiatives as needed
- Act as a mentor to other software development engineers when appropriate
- Prepare and review product documentation, technical literature, and training materials for accuracy
- Conduct thorough unit testing of implementation changes and manage integration testing to ensure quality before delivery
- Collaborate closely with the testing team to identify test cases and review testing plans
- Maintain regular communication with team members and seek help as needed
- Continuously look for opportunities to enhance work processes, technologies, and methodologies
