Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification, to be obtained within six months of hire
- ISC2 Associate designation or other recognized certification
- Over 5 years of experience in cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance
- At least 3 years in a managerial role
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of information security standards
- Experience in technical and legal writing
- Strong research capabilities
- Background in incident response
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to shape long-term and short-term security strategies
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Experience leading a mid-sized security team
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with customers
- Skills in educating peers on security policy best practices
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative risk analysis
- Project management expertise
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate security threats
- Quick problem-solving skills to respond to incidents efficiently
- Attention to detail in assessing security vulnerabilities
- Familiarity with security technologies and tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint protection)
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the PowerTrain information security department
- Ensure compliance with federal security laws and standards
- Research and stay updated on various information security frameworks
- Guide GRC staff in formulating and implementing comprehensive security plans
- Coordinate internal audits and ongoing monitoring activities
- Review and authorize compliance documentation
- Manage timely disclosures of security incidents as per established protocols
- Oversee supply chain risk management efforts and vendor compliance
- Lead regular meetings with security team to track progress on initiatives
- Develop career paths and growth opportunities for security staff
- Chair the Change Control Board, regulating major information system changes
- Manage relationships with vendors and maintain security tool engagements
- Communicate security needs and updates to senior leadership
- Prepare and deliver cybersecurity reports to senior management
- Respond to all communications promptly and attend relevant meetings
- Support audit processes to ensure continued accreditation
- Conduct training programs to enhance corporate security awareness
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures in systems development
