Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 6–14 years of experience in power system analysis, T&D engineering, or utility/industrial system studies.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (Preferred).
- Practical expertise with power system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., SKM, ETAP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience in reviewing and guiding the studies conducted by others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for effective documentation and presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel up to 25% for client interactions and information gathering.
- Strong business acumen, including contract management and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, particularly in inclusiveness and critical thinking.
- Ability to lead and influence a project team in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Execute advanced studies such as power flow, Arc Flash, short-circuit, EMT (electromagnetic transients), harmonics, and techno-economic analyses for various projects.
- Develop and enhance models, execute simulations, troubleshoot problems, and produce high-quality technical reports.
- Improve and support automation, scripting, and workflow procedures to boost accuracy and efficiency.
- Apply extensive knowledge of power system guidelines, standards, codes, tariffs, and best practices in the industry.
- Assist project teams by validating models, reviewing results, and confirming that deliverables meet quality standards.
- Help project leaders with scoping, estimating, and planning technical activities.
- Track task progress while effectively communicating risks and resource limitations.
- Engage in discussions to address technical issues and facilitate successful project execution.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in modeling, simulation techniques, and client interaction expectations.
- Share best practices and provide technical coaching to enhance team capabilities.
- Contribute to internal training, documentation, and process enhancement efforts.
- Promote and support a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team environment.
- Ensure the secure handling of technical and commercial information, focusing on data integrity and conflict-of-interest issues.
- Drive technical innovation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
