Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, PagerDuty)
- Datadog Fundamentals certification or equivalent experience required
- PagerDuty Administrator certification or equivalent experience required
- At least 3 years experience in cloud operations or server management
- AWS SysOps Administrator certification or equivalent experience required
- Progressive server administration experience (Windows, Linux) for 3 years
- Minimum of 3 years in designing, implementing, and managing IT workload automation solutions
- Experience using AI to innovate and resolve complex challenges
- 3 years experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI)
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent experience required
- Strong familiarity with data center infrastructure and best practices
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Comprehensive understanding of networking and identity management in cloud settings
- Practical knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and sustain observability tools to monitor both cloud and on-premises systems
- Create dashboards, alerts, and reports to assess system health, performance, and availability
- Utilize observability tools proactively to discover opportunities for improvement
- Examine metrics and logs to recognize trends, avert potential issues, and enhance system performance
- Collaborate with FinOps teams to oversee resource usage and guarantee cost-effective operations in cloud environments
- Assist in the lifecycle management of cloud and on-premises servers, including provisioning, patching, configuration, and decommissioning
- Identify and rectify server-related issues, ensuring minimal system downtime and adherence to security policies
- Schedule, monitor, and handle batch processes to secure timely execution of critical tasks
- Detect and resolve batch failures or delays in coordination with relevant teams
- Optimize batch jobs for better performance and resource efficiency
- Supervise on-site and remote data center operations, ensuring the proper functioning of hardware, power, cooling, and network infrastructure
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for hardware maintenance, replacements, and upgrades
- Keep an accurate inventory of data center assets ensuring compliance with organizational standards
- Engage in on-call rotations to respond to system incidents and outages promptly
- Perform root cause analyses and implement solutions to prevent issue recurrence
- Document and communicate incident resolution procedures to stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Networking, and Application Development, to maintain system integrations
- Maintain and create thorough documentation for configurations, processes, and incident resolutions
- Offer training and support to team members and other departments
Description
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (Level 2) who will focus on enhancing the performance, availability, and reliability of both cloud and on-premises infrastructures. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify enhancement opportunities, implementing best practices, and supporting essential business operations. We offer a competitive salary of $50-$55 per hour, depending on experience. This is a contract role with an expected commitment of 40 hours per week.
