Requirements

Must:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant role with a Bachelors degree, 1 year with a Masters, or a PhD in Computer Science or a related field. Alternatively, 7 years of experience can replace the degree requirement. - Proven expertise in Linux system administration within operational settings. - Previous experience in delivering IT and telecommunications services. - Proficient in the installation and configuration of IT/network hardware and software. - Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with integrated teams (including Peraton, customers, and subcontractors). - Capability to create clear documentation for configurations and procedures. - US Citizenship and an active/current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph are mandatory for this position. - Preferred: - Experience in advanced troubleshooting of complex network issues, including IPSec, VXLAN, firewalls, load balancing, and DNS. - Familiarity with VDI and thin client system operations. - Background in administering security tools, including enterprise antivirus/EDR, malware detection, IDS, and logging solutions. - Knowledge of open-source security/network tools (e.g., Snort). - Experience with cloud and data platforms like OpenStack, Hadoop, and/or Cloudera. - Familiarity with AWS platforms/services and standard deployment patterns. - Understanding of modern network operations and capability delivery processes.

Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance intricate research infrastructure and its security framework across classified and unclassified environments. - Execute Linux and Windows system administration for both workstations and servers. - Install, configure, troubleshoot, and integrate GOTS/COTS/open-source solutions. - Manage and support virtualization platforms, compute/storage solutions, and remote access technologies. - Set up and resolve networking issues, including TCP/IP fundamentals (switching/routing, port activation, cabling). - Create, maintain, and update gold images for Linux and Windows systems, applying baseline configurations and security hardening practices. - Conduct routine patching and updates for systems/tools, assisting with audit/readiness processes. - Engage in security administration tasks such as endpoint protection, malware detection, intrusion detection, and logging/auditing solutions. - Physically prepare, connect, label, and power system setups, ensuring the implementation of necessary physical security measures. - Follow approved protocols for sanitizing and releasing system components and media. - Maintain an up-to-date understanding of security policies and operational security measures.
