Requirements

Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or I possess equivalent years of software development experience. - I have 8-10 years of experience in relevant programming languages, specifically related to IBM-i. - I possess strong expertise in RPG/400, RPG FREE, ILE, CL, CLLE, DBU, DB2SQL, SQLRPGLE. - I am familiar with IBM I rational, Implementer/MDCMS, Xanalysis, Advance Query Tool, Jira, and Confluence. - I ensure that my assigned tasks are completed punctually to meet sprint velocity. - I have knowledge of appropriate design frameworks and patterns, along with experience implementing them in software development. - I am knowledgeable about industry-wide technology strategies and best practices. - I possess experience in relational database design and have a good understanding of the Agile software development methodology. - I am capable of researching emerging software development frameworks and tools. - I can estimate medium to large-sized projects effectively. - I exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - I have a solid understanding of the complete software development lifecycle. - I can troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. - I maintain regular, predictable attendance as an essential function of my job. - I am willing to travel as necessary, adhere to the required schedule, and complete a Penske employment application, including a background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

- I will serve as the primary contact and lead support associate for multiple applications. - I play a vital role in supporting the application lifecycle, including design, development, testing, release, and support, based on detailed requirements and guidance from senior engineers and leads. - I will collaborate with technical and business leaders, as well as product owners, to acquire and comprehend requirements and acceptance criteria. - I will develop, maintain, test, analyze performance, troubleshoot, and fix applications, along with the applicable code. - I aim to support mission-critical applications and assist in resolving customer issues. - I will design backend database schemas. - I will produce deliverables with clean, well-documented, and easily maintainable code adhering to defined coding standards. - I will write unit and UI tests to identify defects and leverage CI/CD for building and deploying code. - I will triage production issues and coordinate with multiple teams to conduct problem analysis. - I will assign and review tasks for junior and offshore software engineers. - I will participate in conducting interviews for new hires. - I seek to influence the discovery and decision-making process regarding changes to standards and technology (tools, conventions, and design patterns). - I provide support to the business by responding to user inquiries, concerns, and issues, including technical feasibility and implementation strategies. - I will undertake other projects and tasks as assigned.

In this role, I will be a crucial part of our Financial and Admin development groups, which are based in Reading, Pennsylvania, Tampa, Florida, and India. I will be responsible for collaborating with internal customers, external vendors, consultants, and various cross-functional teams. I will work in a hybrid model, being in the office 2 to 3 days a week, and I may need to provide on-call support during significant system failures. I will also mentor junior software engineers and be involved in the modernization roadmap for financial applications.
