Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent years of software development experience. - 5-7 years of experience with relevant programming languages, particularly Java. - Full-stack development experience in technologies such as React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Spring framework, Spring-MVC, myBatis, and RESTful APIs. - Familiarity with DevOps tools and automation. - Understanding of technical project management and appropriate design frameworks and patterns, along with experience in their implementation. - Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies and best practices. - Experience with relational database design. - Understanding of the Agile software development methodology. - Ability to research new software development frameworks and tools. - Capability to estimate medium to large-sized projects. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle. - Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues. - Regular, predictable attendance is a crucial function of this job. - Willingness to travel as needed and the ability to work at the required location.

Responsibilities

- Act as the primary contact and lead support associate for various applications. - Play a vital role in the application lifecycle, including design, development, testing, release, and support, following detailed requirements and guidance from senior engineers/leads. - Work collaboratively with technical/business leaders and product owners to gather and understand requirements and acceptance criteria. - Develop, maintain, test, analyze performance, and troubleshoot/fix applications and relevant code. - Support mission-critical applications and assist in resolving customer issues. - Design backend database schemas. - Produce deliverables that feature clean, well-documented, and maintainable code in line with defined coding standards. - Write unit/UI tests to spot defects and utilize CI/CD for building and deploying code. - Conduct triage on production issues and collaborate with multiple teams for problem analysis. - Assign and oversee tasks for junior and offshore software engineers. - Participate in interviewing new hires. - Influence the discovery and decision-making process regarding changes to standards and technology (tools, conventions, design patterns). - Provide support to the business by addressing user questions, concerns, and issues (e.g. technical feasibility, implementation strategies). - Undertake additional projects/tasks as assigned.

This position provides an opportunity to lead the design of software components and propose new products, applications, and features in response to industry trends and technological advancements. You will also work closely with process owners to review, interpret, and develop systems according to user requirements. Additionally, you will mentor junior software engineers and work with a diverse team. The role is based in our Corporate Center in Reading, PA, or our IT Center in Tampa, FL, and we are willing to assist with relocating qualified candidates to the Tampa area. Your contributions will significantly impact our Service Provider Systems group, which is essential for delivering fleet maintenance services to our clients globally.
