Requirements
Must:
- Associates degree required, advanced degrees preferred
- Cisco certifications (CCIE/CCNP/CCDA/CCDP) preferred
- Experience working in a large scale NOC environment preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- At least 2 years of project management experience, including mid-to-large scale projects and handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN support and engineering design for voice, data, and video networks across various network locations, including Access, Aggregation, and Core, as well as Wi-Fi
- Comprehensive knowledge of current service provider TCP/IP data networks using technologies such as MPLS, BGP4, EIGRP, and QOS
- Proficiency with various hardware/software tools such as Aruba and Cisco networking equipment, SolarWinds, and SDWAN
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Strong skills in network performance analytics and troubleshooting
- Ability to manage and communicate effectively with internal client groups
- Regular, consistent attendance is essential for this role
- Willingness to meet scheduling, travel, and background screening requirements
Responsibilities
- Design and configure network architecture, encompassing routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs for remote locations
- Monitor and enhance network performance to achieve optimal efficiency and availability
- Develop and implement network security standards to safeguard against unauthorized access
- Guide, mentor, and assign tasks to junior network engineers and technicians
- Assess, research, and integrate new networking technologies and standards
- Prepare performance reports on network incidents and infrastructure upgrades for leadership review
- Collaborate with IT management, systems engineers, and project managers to ensure network operations align with organizational objectives
- Ensure the effective operation of servers, networks, and infrastructure within the Data Center, focusing on uptime, scalability, and security
- Troubleshoot and upgrade software and hardware as necessary
- Take ownership of multiple projects that will have department or enterprise-wide impacts
- Participate in after-hours responsibilities, including on-call duties and organizational outage tasks
