Requirements
Must:
- Preferred Associate or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
- Desired advanced degrees or certifications such as A+, Cisco, and Network+
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- At least 3 years as a PC Service Technician with skills in building, repairing, and deploying
- Full fluency with Windows computers (laptops, desktops, tablets)
- Proficiency in various cell phone models and operating systems
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and IP is preferred
- Experience with servers is a plus
- Required on-site attendance in a predictable manner
- Willingness to adhere to scheduled hours and travel as necessary
- Completion of background checks and drug screening is mandatory
Responsibilities
- Install and support new and reimaged computers and peripherals including printers and scanners
- Provide both remote connection support and desk-side assistance
- Be available for 24/7 support as required, including after hours
- Serve as primary IT support for the Kitchener Admin office and Canadian PL and PTL locations
- Troubleshoot and fix issues related to computers, scanners, printers, cell phones, and telephone systems
- Manage asset disposal and recycling processes
- Collaborate with network and communications teams as the local IT contact
- Enter the main computer room to address issues, power cycle equipment, and swap out devices
- Handle escalated issues from IT Service Desk and PC Shop for remote sites
- Engage in multiple IT projects, which may involve limited travel (5-10%)
- Conduct equipment and network troubleshooting for software and hardware problems
- Effectively resolve end-user issues either remotely or in person
- Collaborate with vendors for troubleshooting and researching new technologies
- Participate in project planning and development to meet customer needs
- Maintain strong communication with users regarding issue progress until resolution
- Deliver exceptional customer service during interactions with users
