Requirements
Must:
- I require a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent years of software development experience.
- I am looking for candidates with 10+ years of overall technology experience.
- I need someone with 8+ years of Data Engineering, Data Modeling, and Data Warehousing experience.
- Previous experience working with Agile teams for 2+ years is preferred.
- I seek someone with 1-2 years of experience leading medium to large projects.
- Expert knowledge of the full data engineering lifecycle is essential.
- I prefer strong experience with Data Engineering tools such as Talend and BODS.
- An expert understanding of relational SQL and NoSQL databases is necessary.
- The ideal candidate will have expertise in building data pipelines, data ingestion, data integrations, data preparations, and traditional Data Warehouses and DataMarts.
- Strong experience in building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management is needed.
- I require strong analytic skills related to working with complex datasets.
- Expertise in designing, validating, and implementing multiple projects across hybrid infrastructure (On-cloud to On-Premise and vice versa) is important.
- Experience with big data tools such as Kafka is a must.
- Some experience with visualization tools such as Qlikview, Qliksense, Tableau, etc., is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of appropriate design frameworks and patterns and experience in implementing them is required.
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies and best practices is essential.
- A solid understanding of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores is necessary.
- I expect solid written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Responsibilities
- I will have you be the primary contact and lead support associate for multiple critical projects, data pipelines, and integrations, resolving customer issues in a timely manner.
- You will collaborate with technical and business leaders, product owners, software engineers, data architects, and data analysts to acquire and understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- I expect you to participate in defining Data Engineering Process and Technology strategies.
- You will provide day-to-day task leadership and project reviews.
- I need you to assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- You will produce deliverables for medium to large-sized projects with clean, well-documented, and easily maintainable code that adheres to defined coding standards.
- I will expect you to design and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
- You will build and leverage the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources, both on-premise and in the cloud.
- I need you to partner with cross-functional teams to build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.
- You will participate in building data security and data governance guidelines.
- I expect you to ensure solutions are sustainable across implementation and use, troubleshooting and analyzing open issues, providing bug-fixes, and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.
- You will communicate status and issues to team members and stakeholders.
- I anticipate your participation in Design and Deploy Tollgate reviews and gaining buy-in from cross-functional teams, including QA, Architecture, Security, Webmaster, and Operations.
- You will contribute and influence the discovery and decision-making process for changes to standards and technology (tools, conventions, and design patterns).
- You will assign projects and review deliverables from onshore and offshore software engineers.
- I expect you to provide constructive feedback to department management regarding project team members.
- You will conduct new hire interviews independently.
- I will have you design and manage models to handle large datasets of existing structured and unstructured data.
- You will research and discover new methods to acquire data and new applications for existing data.
- I want you to stay current with the rapidly developing Data Engineering landscape and share knowledge internally and with customers.
- You will create recommendations for increasing data utilization based on your understanding of the data delivery environment, along with completing other duties as assigned.
