Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory (Associates degree is preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of field support experience required for Senior Desktop Support Technician
- Minimum of 3 years of field support experience required for Desktop Support Technician
- Completion of an approved apprentice program or one year of relevant experience for Associate Desktop Support Technician
- Proficient in service and support for Health System hardware, software, and equipment
- Familiarity with Health System design concepts and associated processes
- Experience in programming languages, operating systems, and software is required
- Strong focus on customer service with effective issue resolution skills
- Ability to communicate with various levels of Health System personnel, including IT management and clinicians
- Knowledge of healthcare operations and the use of information systems in medical settings
- Excellent technical and analytical capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong follow-up and organizational skills
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies
- Prior customer-facing experience in any field (retail, hospitality, etc.) is preferred for Associate role
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support for customers, including installation, repair, and maintenance of hardware and equipment
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues; escalate complex queries to the appropriate personnel
- Assist in educating customers on the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment
- Serve as a liaison on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects
- Analyze, document, and address trends and issues related to system performance
- Conduct testing on final products to ensure they meet specifications and update inventory as necessary
- Keep ticketing and assignment records up to date according to established guidelines
- Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned
- Collaborate on local technology initiatives by organizing meetings and aligning goals with team members and vendors
- Exhibit safety, confidentiality, and security in handling employee and patient data
- Execute duties in accordance with Penn Medicines values and policies
- Engage in additional tasks as required to support departmental goals and initiatives
