Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least three years of experience in a database administrator role.
- Proficiency in Oracle 11g or later and SQL Server administration.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL administration is a plus.
- Experience with database migration processes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, or Windows server management is beneficial.
- Experience with PaaS database administration in Azure is preferred.
- Understanding of DevOps practices for Azure environments is advantageous.
- Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a bonus but not mandatory.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States or Mexico as required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and ethical practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational support for company databases to ensure optimal efficiency and security.
- Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and performance monitoring of all databases.
- Modify, test, and correct existing databases or direct others in these tasks.
- Develop logical and physical database descriptions and configure permissions for access.
- Establish and document security measures to protect database integrity and confidentiality.
- Create and manage data models to describe data elements and their utilization.
- Administer database backups and ensure integration with various applications, including UNIX/Linux/MS Windows Servers.
- Monitor and optimize database performance using diverse monitoring tools.
- Assess project requests for database user requirements to estimate time and costs.
- Document actions and provide support through helpdesk software and project management tools.
- Assist users in leveraging database information and support IT staff in crafting efficient queries and designing new database systems.
- Conduct audits of ISO procedures and revise the companys data definitions as necessary.
