Requirements
Must:
1. I am proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
2. I possess strong knowledge of networking, particularly with HPE/Aruba switches and Fortinet firewalls.
3. Familiarity with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer is a plus.
4. I have expertise in Azure Cloud networking and server components.
5. I have a solid understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and related solutions.
6. I maintain a strong grasp of network standards and best practices.
7. I possess practical experience with PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and processes.
8. I have fundamental networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and network routing.
9. Experience with VoIP systems, particularly Sangoma VoIP Telephony, is desirable.
10. I can assess the risks associated with network maintenance outages and understand their consequences.
11. I am committed to staying current on technological changes and advancements in IT infrastructure.
12. My written and verbal communication skills are strong.
13. I collaborate effectively within a team environment.
14. I have a solid understanding of IT ticketing systems, their functionality, and emphasize the importance of daily ticket updates.
15. In this senior IT role, I will train and mentor other IT staff in my areas of expertise.
16. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/business field (or have equivalent experience).
17. I bring a minimum of 5 years of quality technical experience (or 10 years of directly related experience for those without a degree).
18. I am Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900).
19. I have achieved Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
20. I will acquire Microsoft AZ-104 within six months of hiring.
21. I will obtain Fortinet FortiGate Security- NSE 4 within one year of hiring.
22. I will also acquire Fortinet FortiManager - NSE 5 within one year of hiring.
23. I am authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
1. I will provide advanced technical expertise, developing strategies and directions for network solutions that utilize both current and emerging technologies. I will translate business requirements into effective network or process designs.
2. I will be responsible for high- and low-level network planning, design, and optimization, and I will develop, implement, and enforce corporate policies, standards, and guidelines that align with the company’s strategic business objectives regarding the corporate network.
3. I will plan and recommend network hardware, systems management software, and architecture.
4. I will build, configure, and maintain network switches, routers, access points, and various voice appliances.
5. I will monitor network performance, ensure capacity planning is executed, and proactively assess and recommend improvements as necessary. I will employ continuous improvement techniques to enhance the performance, security, and availability of the network infrastructure.
6. I am committed to ensuring that our network environment maintains appropriate recovery protocols and addresses redundancy issues.
7. I will effectively prioritize network faults, diagnose and resolve issues quickly, and maintain composure under pressure from various impacted business units.
8. I will provide design, implementation, and operational support for VoIP telephony systems, as well as for Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
9. I will coordinate with locations to facilitate technician training for new hardware and will be responsible for the daily monitoring and management of IP network appliances.
10. I will develop and follow procedures to manage network fault events and perform system-wide/cross-functional team management.
11. I will plan and manage small to large-scale projects and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding network infrastructure. I will resolve highly technical and complex network-related issues.
