Requirements
Must:
1. Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
2. Strong understanding of networking, particularly with HPE/Aruba switches and Fortinet firewalls.
3. Familiarity with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer is a plus.
4. Expertise in Azure Cloud networking and server components.
5. Solid grasp of Microsoft Office 365 and related solutions.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of network standards and best practices.
7. Practical experience with PowerShell scripting for task and process automation.
8. Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and network routing.
9. Experience with VoIP systems, particularly Sangoma VoIP Telephony, is advantageous.
10. Ability to evaluate the risks associated with network maintenance outages and their potential consequences.
11. Commitment to staying informed on technological advancements in IT infrastructure.
12. Strong written and oral communication abilities.
13. Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
14. Solid familiarity with IT ticketing systems, their functionalities, and the importance of maintaining daily ticket updates.
15. As a senior IT position, you will be expected to mentor and train other IT staff in your areas of expertise.
16. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/business field (or equivalent experience).
17. At least 5 years of quality technical experience (or 10 years of relevant experience for those without a degree).
18. Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900).
19. Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
20. Microsoft AZ-104 certification (or to be acquired within six months of hiring).
21. Fortinet FortiGate Security - NSE 4 (or to be obtained within one year of hiring).
22. Fortinet FortiManager - NSE 5 (or to be acquired within one year of hiring).
23. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
1. Exhibit a high level of technical expertise by creating strategies and directions for network solutions that utilize current and upcoming technologies. Translate business needs into effective network or process designs.
2. Responsible for high-level and low-level planning, designing, and optimizing networks. Develop, implement, and uphold corporate policies, standards, and guidelines that align with the company's strategic objectives relative to the corporate network.
3. Innovate by planning and recommending network hardware, systems management software, and architectural improvements.
4. Construct, configure, and maintain network switches, routers, access points, and various voice appliances.
5. Monitor network performance, ensuring effective capacity planning and proactively assessing and recommending enhancements. Utilize continuous improvement techniques to maximize the performance, security, and availability of the network infrastructure.
6. Ensure the network environment maintains suitable recovery protocols and addresses redundancy issues.
7. Prioritize network faults effectively, diagnose and resolve issues swiftly while maintaining composure under pressure from affecting business groups.
8. Provide design, implementation, and operational support for VoIP telephony systems, as well as for Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
9. Communicate effectively by coordinating with sites to facilitate technician training for new hardware, and oversee the daily monitoring and management of IP network appliances.
10. Develop procedures for addressing network fault events and manage cross-functional team collaborations.
11. Plan and manage projects ranging from small to large-scale while maintaining all network infrastructure documentation and resolving complex technical network-related challenges.
