Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for someone proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking, particularly with HPE/Aruba switches and Fortinet firewalls, is essential. Familiarity with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer is a plus.
- Expertise in Azure Cloud networking and server components is required, as well as a strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and its complementary solutions.
- You should have a solid grasp of network standards and best practices, along with practical experience in automating tasks and processes using PowerShell scripting.
- A fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and network routing, is necessary. Experience with VoIP systems, particularly Sangoma VoIP Telephony, is advantageous.
- It is important for you to assess the risks of network maintenance outages and understand their potential consequences.
- I expect a commitment to staying updated on technological changes and advancements in IT infrastructure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems, their functionality, and the necessity of daily ticket updates is required.
- As this is a senior IT role, you'll be expected to train and mentor other IT staff in your areas of specialization.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/business discipline (or equivalent experience) is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience (or 10 years for non-degree holders).
- Certification such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900) and Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) is required.
- You will need to obtain Microsoft AZ-104 and Fortinet FortiGate Security - NSE 4 certifications within six months and one year of hiring respectively.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- In my view, you will demonstrate a high level of expertise in designing, building, and supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Your responsibilities will include providing technical guidance at the highest level, developing strategies for network solutions using current and emerging technologies, and translating business requirements into effective designs.
- I expect you to manage high- and low-level network planning, design, and optimization, developing and enforcing corporate policies that align with the company's strategic business objectives related to the corporate network.
- You will plan and recommend network hardware, systems management software, and overall architecture.
- Your role will encompass building, configuring, and maintaining network switches, routers, access points, and various voice appliances.
- I would like you to monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and proactively assess and recommend improvements to maximize the performance and availability of our network infrastructure.
- Ownership and care for the network environment is crucial, ensuring that we maintain appropriate recovery protocols and address redundancy issues.
- You should prioritize network faults, promptly diagnose and resolve issues while maintaining professionalism under pressure from impacted business groups.
- I want you to provide design, implementation, and operational support for VoIP telephony systems, as well as for Microsoft Office 365 and Azure environments.
- You will coordinate with various sites to facilitate technician training for new hardware. Daily monitoring and management of IP network appliances will also be your responsibility.
- Additionally, developing and adhering to procedures for handling network fault events while managing system-wide and cross-functional teams will be important.
- You will plan and manage small to large-scale projects and maintain all documentation related to network infrastructure while solving highly technical and complex network-related issues.
