- Demonstrated ability to pragmatically apply emerging technologies, transforming innovation into successfully launched products.
- Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of expertise in software engineering, emerging technologies, analytics, and GenAI.
- At least 5 years of experience leading teams of 50+ engineers across multiple agile frameworks.
- Proven history of delivering AI-driven platforms in education, SaaS, or consumer-scale environments.
- Experience in building high-performing teams that excel in delivery and culture through clarity, trust, and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the AI and GenAI engineering strategy aligned with our educational outcomes and business objectives.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable AI solutions such as conversational tutoring and personalization engines across the XL+ platform.
- Promote responsible use of Generative AI, LLMs, knowledge graphs, and learner modeling frameworks to enhance engagement, retention, and learning effectiveness.
- Cultivate and mentor a high-performing engineering culture based on humility, ownership, curiosity, and results.
- Guide multiple distributed scrum teams, nurturing future leaders and ensuring consistent excellence in execution across locations.
- Encourage collaboration among product, UX, analytics, content, and commercial teams to eliminate silos and unite everyone towards common goals.
- Set clear success metrics for delivery velocity, reliability, quality, adoption, and learner outcomes.
- Establish strong operational rhythms utilizing OKRs, agile metrics, experimental frameworks, and business impact KPIs.
- Translate strategy into actionable plans that deliver high-quality results at scale consistently.
- Set benchmarks for architecture, data governance, model lifecycle management, and AI safety.
- Ensure all solutions meet rigorous standards for accuracy, fairness, compliance, privacy, security, and reproducibility.
- Continuously enhance engineering productivity through automation, MLOps/LLMOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud methodologies.
- Act as a reliable partner to senior business, product, and academic leaders by simplifying technical complexities into clear, actionable insights.
- Clearly communicate insights and risks with empathy and credibility.
