Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Professional background in software engineering with a strong emphasis on MLOps, ML systems, or scaling machine learning models
- Advanced proficiency in Python; familiarity with a systems programming language such as Go, Java, or C++ is advantageous
- Extensive, practical experience in designing and constructing large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, or OCI)
- Proven ability to lead architectural initiatives for complex ML systems and MLOps pipelines utilizing technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
- Proficiency with ML frameworks (such as TensorFlow and PyTorch) and substantial experience with advanced inference optimization tools (e.g., ONNX, TensorRT)
- Strong grasp of popular model architectures (e.g., Transformers, CNNs, GNNs) is a significant plus
- Demonstrated expertise with up-to-date LLM inference engines (such as vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT-LLM); contributions to open-source projects in these fields are a notable advantage
- Experience with low-level performance tweaks, such as custom CUDA kernel development or employing Triton Language, is a plus
- Familiarity with data infrastructure solutions (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink) is desirable
- Understanding of CI/CD frameworks and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton) is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the architectural design of a scalable, low-latency, and robust ML inference platform that supports a variety of models for real-time security applications
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to the team, championing best practices in MLOps, software engineering, and system design
- Formulate strategies for optimizing model and system performance, leading research and the application of advanced optimization techniques such as custom kernels and hardware acceleration
- Set and uphold engineering standards for automated model deployment, thorough monitoring, and operational excellence for all production ML systems
- Serve as a crucial technical liaison with fellow principal engineers, architects, and product leaders to define the future of the Prisma AIRS platform and ensure cohesive end-to-end systems
- Address the most complex and challenging technical issues in large-scale inference, from counteracting new security threats to achieving unparalleled performance objectives
