Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in insurance product management, actuarial science, or similar analytical roles preferred
- Bachelors Degree in an analytical discipline such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Capability to extract, analyze, organize, visualize, and effectively communicate data to support proposals and decisions
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to contribute to business case development and executive presentations
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Property & Casualty industry, including competitors, insurance product pricing, and financial drivers of profitability, alongside an in-depth understanding of legislative and Department of Insurance regulations
- Interest in serving high-net-worth clients and offering tailored insurance solutions
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine curiosity to learn about product strategies and specific state nuances
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of state-specific product strategies to drive profitable growth and enhance market positioning
- Analyze, report, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) like premium growth, loss ratios, indications, retention, and new business conversion for designated states
- Execute annual rate plan recommendations, including analyzing the existing business portfolio and providing documentation and filing support
- Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Legal, and Marketing teams to implement state-level initiatives and support the complete product lifecycle
- Assist in the preparation of compliance projects, gathering necessary data, preparing state filings, and collaborating with Regulatory/Compliance, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams to ensure conformity with state-specific guidelines
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform rate, rule, and form enhancements
- Gather insights from Distribution, Sales, and Customer Experience teams to identify market trends and opportunities
- Help coordinate projects related to product launches, enhancements, or operational improvements within assigned states
- Engage in education and training initiatives, serving as a mentor and advisor to members of the Product Team
Description
We are looking for an analytical, collaborative, and driven Associate Product Manager to become part of our State Management team within our Product Management organization. This role supports the creation, implementation, and oversight of state-specific strategies for our High-Net-Worth personal insurance products. Although this position is open to remote candidates, we prefer someone based in Chicago, IL, who can commute to our office three days a week. We offer a competitive salary range between $90,000 and $110,000 depending on individual experience, job-related skills, and market data alignment.
