Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Minimum of two years of engineering design experience; recent graduates may be considered
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or another 3-D CAD platform
- Experience with ERP systems, especially Oracle
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines and manuals
- Competency in writing reports and correspondence
- Excellent verbal communication skills for presentations
- Proven problem-solving skills in diverse situations
- Capability to interpret various forms of instructions
- Certification pursuits in relevant areas is advantageous
- Desirable experience in rotating equipment design or reciprocating equipment design
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical liaison among Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing teams for rotating pumps and reciprocating compressors
- Process and approve deviation forms for manufactured and purchased parts
- Implement engineering change notices for modifications, improvements, or cost savings, overseeing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Create and maintain BOMs and component part data within the Oracle ERP system
- Address component obsolescence with a focus on product health and customer satisfaction
- Mentor design team members on best practices and project requirements
- Manage the SolidWorks PDM database to ensure CAD file accessibility
- Support CAD designers on engineered special product orders, providing technical guidance and evaluating BOMs and drawings
- Conduct minor CAD design tasks within SolidWorks for engineering changes and special product orders
- Coordinate project management efforts for product improvements and special initiatives
- Assist in maintaining compliance documents and design standards databases
- Issue technical documentation and product literature as necessary
- Perform additional tasks to support organizational goals
