Requirements
Must:
- I prefer candidates with an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems & Network Administration, or a related field. However, significant experience can be considered in place of a degree if coupled with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Official training in vendor-specific curriculum is a plus.
- Industry-specific certifications such as NetApp Certified Data Administrator are desirable. Entry-level industry certifications like CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco are also preferred.
- Basic Requirements include:
- 5 years of experience with storage systems.
- 5 years of experience with SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage) technologies.
- 5 years of experience with Windows Server operating systems.
- 5 years of experience in physical and virtual server builds.
- Experience in writing scripts for automating common tasks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft clustering, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and Windows networking.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, showcasing networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with virtualization principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across various projects and team members.
Responsibilities
- I will expect you to perform all duties associated with the Data Center Services Team as directed by DCS Leadership.
- Your tasks will include all SAN-related duties involving both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- You will be responsible for configuration tuning as necessary.
- You should create documentation based on standardized templates and update any prior documentation to reflect new changes.
- It is crucial that you ensure all supported systems maintain high levels of reliability, security, and performance.
- You will perform root cause analysis of outages and ensure they are rectified.
- I will ask you to review any new patches or releases to enhance performance as recommended by vendors.
- You'll be expected to continually improve alarming and system monitoring for servers and networks.
- Assisting with the research, development, and deployment of new technologies and multi-vendor integration will be part of your role.
- You will implement and maintain a consistent backup and disaster recovery strategy.
- Timely and efficient delivery of hardware upgrades, network upgrades, and new configurations will be your responsibility.
- Participation in the planning, design, technical review, and implementation of new infrastructure hardware and operating systems for voice and data communication networks is required.
- Assisting in the development of an ongoing security strategy will also be part of your duties.
- You may be assigned various projects and tasks by your manager as needed.
Description
We are excited about offering a full-time opportunity as a System Engineer I – Storage Engineer within our Data Center Services Team at Osaic, located in La Vista, NE. Candidates must be willing to adhere to a hybrid work schedule, which entails working four days in the office. The annual salary range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $87,000.00, and benefits include a 401(k), health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, as well as paid time off.
