Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Safety, Health & Environment (preferred), Engineering, or a related field. - Capability to acquire external Safety certificates or certifications. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security (preferred). - Relevant experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in safety management software. - Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. - Understanding of incident reporting and investigations (Basic, 5Y, ICAM, etc.). - Ability to cultivate relationships and influence a diverse group of stakeholders. - Knowledge of applicable regulations including OSHA, PSM, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, EPA, and ICMI. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi). - Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

- Conduct regular inspections of work environments to identify potential hazards, including chemical exposures and unsafe practices. - Lead the design and implementation of the Orica Major Hazard Management (MHM) Program. - Oversee industrial hygiene monitoring activities, including the management of personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting audits related to safety measures. - Organize Industrial Hygiene initiatives for employee medical monitoring and safety. - Manage all components of Safety Data Sheet oversight at the site. - Formulate and implement health and safety procedures aligning with Orica policies and industry standards. - Establish a comprehensive Site Safety Induction program. - Ensure that all staff are informed about and comply with safety protocols. - Provide training and educational resources regarding health and safety practices and emergency response procedures. - Facilitate safety briefings and meetings to reinforce safety culture. - Investigate incidents and near misses to ascertain root causes and apply corrective measures. - Maintain detailed records of incidents and safety performance, including oversight of data in the Orica Enablon database. - Ensure adherence to applicable health and safety regulations and industry best practices. - Monitor the enforcement of safety policies and procedures. - Effectively communicate health and safety issues with management, staff, and other stakeholders. - Collaborate with various departments to identify and resolve safety challenges. - Collect and evaluate data on workplace safety performance to identify trends and improvement areas. - Prepare reports and presentations detailing safety performance metrics.
