Requirements
Must:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Over 8 years of engineering experience.
- Extensive knowledge in AWS and backend systems.
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of security architecture principles.
- Strong skills in debugging and system design.
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- Preferred: Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture.
- Preferred: Familiarity with mobile development (Swift).
- Preferred: Background in platform engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable architectures on AWS.
- Develop reference implementations and proofs of concept.
- Contribute to production code and conduct pull request reviews.
- Define standards for APIs (REST/GraphQL).
- Lead the development of event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS, and SQS.
- Engage with both new system developments and the modernization of legacy applications.
- Create fan-out patterns for decoupled systems using SNS/EventBridge.
- Implement asynchronous workflows through SQS and orchestrate events.
- Establish clear event contracts along with versioning strategies.
- Evaluate and balance requirements for eventual versus strong consistency.
- Apply event-driven patterns effectively without over-engineering.
- Conduct design reviews and detailed technical discussions.
- Set and enforce architectural standards across the organization.
- Own architecture decision records and the decision-making process.
- Ensure alignment among teams on scalable patterns.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering leadership on architecture considerations.
- Design identity and access control patterns using Entra ID and Okta.
- Implement IAM protocols and JWT-based authorization strategies.
- Advocate for zero-trust architecture principles and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Integrate AI tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex into engineering tasks.
- Establish standards for AI-assisted development practices.
- Enhance debugging, automation, and code generation utilizing AI.
- Promote measurable productivity improvements across teams.
- Communicate effectively with engineering and business stakeholders.
- Produce high-quality documentation and architectural designs.
- Facilitate connections between technical decisions and business outcomes.
