Requirements
Must:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
- Over 5 years of experience in DevOps
- Proficient in AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD methodologies
- Strong skills in scripting and programming
- Experience in supporting development teams
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Preferred: AWS Certification
- Preferred: Experience with container platforms such as ECS or Kubernetes
- Preferred: Background in platform engineering
- Preferred: Experience working with distributed teams
Responsibilities
- Design and manage AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Develop platforms and self-service tools for developers
- Oversee deployments across various environments and troubleshoot distributed systems
- Enhance monitoring and observability while optimizing cost, performance, and reliability
- Collaborate with development teams to improve processes
- Support Entra ID and IAM integration
- Design secure token and JWT-based systems
- Contribute to a zero-trust architectural approach and ensure compliance with security standards
- Lead by example through hands-on contributions and mentoring of engineers
- Drive best practices in DevOps and influence the platform roadmap
- Assist development teams in achieving their goals
- Utilize AI tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex for automation, debugging, and code generation
- Promote AI adoption within teams
Description
We are seeking a hands-on DevOps engineer with leadership potential to join our team as a Technical Lead. This position will primarily involve individual contributor work (approximately 70% hands-on) while also embracing growing leadership responsibilities (about 30%). You will report to our existing DevOps Manager and will play a key role in enabling engineering teams across our QTS OS and SDP platforms, enhancing developer productivity, and constructing scalable, secure, cloud-native infrastructure. Our location is in Ashburn, VA, and we offer ongoing opportunities for career advancement within our dynamic team.
