We are looking for a highly proficient and experienced Infrastructure Middleware Engineer who has extensive knowledge in Kafka administration, infrastructure as code (IaC), cloud automation, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines. The perfect candidate will demonstrate strong competence in the following areas:
- Solid expertise in IaC tools, particularly Ansible, Terraform, and Bash scripting.
- Significant experience with cloud automation and provisioning on AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools, such as GitHub, Artifactory, Harness, and Jenkins.
- Advanced scripting abilities in languages like Python and Bash.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of networking concepts.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, Splunk OTEL, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Knowledge and experience with Kraft, CFK, Zookeeper, and Control Center is greatly preferred.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to effectively execute each primary responsibility, which includes:
- Designing, implementing, and managing highly available and scalable Kafka clusters.
- Monitoring Kafka performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing configurations.
- Staying informed about the latest industry trends and best practices in Confluent Kafka development.
- Resolving technical challenges related to Kafka implementations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Participating in code reviews and offering constructive feedback to enhance solution quality.
- Developing and maintaining IaC using Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Creating and sustaining reusable IaC modules.
- Designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure.
- Automating cloud resource provisioning, scaling, and management through cloud-native tools and services.
- Deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes and Rancher.
- Troubleshooting container-related challenges and enhancing container performance.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub, Artifactory, Harness, and Jenkins.
- Automating the build, testing, and deployment of middleware components.
- Integrating IaC and container technologies into CI/CD pipelines.
- Documenting all processes and procedures.
- Collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless deployments.
Description
We prefer candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or possess equivalent experience) along with 10+ years in infrastructure middleware administration and 3-4 years of in-depth experience in Kafka administration, including cluster management, performance tuning, and security. Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, CKAD, or CKA would be considered advantageous.
