Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- A minimum of seven years of professional software development experience, with at least three years in a leadership position
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions using the Okta platform, including its APIs and lifecycle management features
- Strong architectural knowledge of Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) systems
- Expertise in modern security practices including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and secure session management
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Go, Python, or Node.js
- Experience managing the operational health of a critical 24/7 service
- Solid technical background in relevant technologies such as Okta, Go, Java, and cloud platforms
- Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust messaging for diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions
- Experience managing software development projects within an Agile environment
Responsibilities
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions
- Oversee multi-scrum technology feasibility, delivery, and quality in collaboration with product and design teams
- Develop and secure approval for technology roadmaps aligned with product objectives
- Serve as the authority for technical solutions and specific capabilities
- Communicate technology vision and principles to various audiences, adapting as necessary
- Achieve effective negotiation outcomes while fostering positive relationships
- Influence technical team interactions to guide architecture, software design, and incident recovery
- Evaluate and clarify requirements to ensure their intent is well understood
- Set clear cost and time commitments for stakeholders, ensuring they are met
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders about expectations
- Build and enhance a successful team of software engineers
- Provide constructive and empathetic feedback to promote a culture of growth
- Cultivate strong relationships with product, design, and business teams
- Clearly outline the financial implications of capabilities for informed decision-making
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and corporate obligations without relying on external technologists
