Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or possess equivalent experience).
- I have at least 8 years of relevant experience in software engineering and systems/infrastructure roles.
- I possess a minimum of 2 years leading or mentoring engineering teams or project groups.
- I have strong experience with Python, Go, or Java in a production setting.
- I am proficient in Unix/Linux administration within large-scale environments.
- I am familiar with Tier 1–3 service provider networking concepts, particularly DOCSIS (CMTS, modem telemetry, TLVs).
- I demonstrate proficiency with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Flink), Kubernetes, Docker, and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
- I have a solid understanding of DHCP, DNS, SNMP, RADIUS, and network automation.
- I have a proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, resolve technical issues, and communicate effectively across engineering and operations domains.
- I possess strong written documentation and system design communication skills.
Responsibilities
- I will lead a team of engineers to deliver infrastructure automation, telemetry ingestion pipelines, and intelligent tools.
- I will define and uphold engineering best practices concerning code quality, testing, CI/CD, and systems reliability.
- I will provide architectural direction for systems that involve Kafka, Kubernetes, observability tools, and distributed backend services.
- I will design and construct scalable software solutions using Python, Go, and Java to support core network operations and infrastructure automation.
- I will create and maintain APIs, service integrations, and event-driven workflows that interface with platforms such as CMTSs, DHCP, DNS, and RADIUS.
- I will ensure the maintenance of production-quality codebases, perform code reviews, and promote platform stability.
- I will manage Linux system configurations, performance optimization, and automation at the OS level.
- I will utilize Ansible, Git, CI/CD tools (such as GitLab CI and Jenkins), and system-based service orchestration to oversee infrastructure.
- I will implement automation that responds to SNMP traps, syslog streams, and telemetry from DOCSIS plant equipment.
- I will collaborate with architects and network leadership to prototype, assess, and scale technologies, including Kafka and related event processing tools, Kubernetes, containerization, and service mesh patterns, as well as observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
- I will contribute to reference architectures for network telemetry, alert correlation, and intelligent remediation.
- I will serve as the link between software, network, and operations teams to ensure solutions align with operational workflows.
- I will engage with NOC, Network Planning, Security, and DevOps stakeholders to confirm requirements and uphold reliability standards.
- I will mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design reviews and career advancement.
- I will cultivate a culture of technical excellence, shared responsibility, and continuous learning.
