Requirements
Must:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in French is an advantage.

- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office 365, specifically Outlook and Teams.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Comfortable interacting with the public and maintaining composure under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuations in workload, such as increased demands during construction season.
- Familiarity with customer support software and tools, accompanied by a willingness to learn and apply new technologies and procedures.
- A growth mindset is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and guidance to web portal users, including the public, excavators, contractors, and locate service providers, ensuring the accurate submission of locate requests.
- Rectify tickets that are stalled in the system due to user errors and seek clarification from external users to enable efficient resolution of stalled tickets.
- Interface with excavators to address their needs and concerns while providing training and insight to enhance the user experience.
- Respond to various inquiries regarding our organization, services, regulatory responsibilities, submission processes, and expectations.
- Manage escalations related to issues and direct stakeholders to the appropriate program or individuals for specialized queries.
- Handle urgent calls and dispatch requests for emergencies and priority cases.
- Maintain account settings within a robust CRM, ensuring accurate user accounts and assisting users with system issues and password recovery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, identifying both process and system discrepancies while seeking clarity and suggesting improvements.
- Utilize various technologies to complete tasks, including CRM systems, mapping tools, and communication platforms.
- Provide regular feedback and reports to leadership concerning system functions and user experiences, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our services.
- Continuously review training materials to remain informed about organizational process changes and embrace new technologies and skill development opportunities.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Description
At Ontario One Call (OOC), we are dedicated to enhancing public safety by facilitating safe excavation practices throughout Ontario. As a Support Operations Specialist, you will serve as an essential point of contact for industry support and guidance. Since our inception in 2012, OOC has been instrumental in connecting individuals planning to dig with the owners of underground infrastructures, thereby preventing damages and ensuring safety. Working under the supervision of a team leader, this role is based in Sudbury and follows a hybrid work model, combining both in-office and remote work as dictated by company policy.
