Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or a related discipline
- For Engineer III: At least 6 years of relevant experience in cyber security, information assurance, or similar roles
- For Engineer IV - V: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in cyber security, information assurance, or corresponding fields
- Proficiency in configuring and analyzing networks, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and IP addressing
- Experience in system hardening, patch management, and configuration management
- Familiarity with design, programming, or analysis of computer architectures and operating systems
- Knowledge of Security Patch Management, Configuration Management, Firewall Management, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, and Information Management is preferred
- Experience providing 24x7 support for real-time data communications systems and troubleshooting related issues
- Exposure to virtual environments, specifically VMWare ESXi, is desired
- Knowledge of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) such as Honeywell and Genetec is preferred
- Familiarity with ITIL-based Asset and Change Management systems is a plus
- Proficient in Windows Server/Workstation, SQL Server, and Linux administration
- Experience in regulated environments, particularly NERC CIP, is highly desirable
- Certifications related to Critical Infrastructure, NERC CIP, Cyber Security, or Information Systems are advantageous
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to shifting technologies, processes, and compliance standards
- Must pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain aspects of GSOCs physical and cyber security initiatives
- Lead significant Power Technology projects related to new standards and major program advancements
- Document changes in processes across divisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new systems and infrastructure
- Identify, document, and initiate approved enhancements to current technical and operational methodologies
- Create, document, and enforce NERC CIP-related policies, processes, and procedures
- Collaborate with both internal and external compliance and audit teams to confirm adherence to regulatory standards
- Contribute to corporate initiatives in identifying, analyzing, and applying new technologies to enhance GSOC and GTCs digital security
- Work alongside various departments including GTCs System Protection & Control, Electronic Maintenance, Relay Maintenance, and others to ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards and cyber security protocols
- Serve as Lead Engineer or Architect for enterprise-level projects that significantly affect GSOC operations and security
- Recommend and endorse process enhancements across different areas and work with teams to execute operational adjustments
