Requirements
Must:
- Experience in a Managed Service Provider or similar role is essential.
- At least 5 years of extensive experience focusing on MSP-specific work.
- High School diploma or equivalent; a college degree, A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, VMWare, MCSA, and Dell-specific certifications are advantageous.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and supporting computer systems, with experience working with both technical and non-technical end users.
- Familiar with firewalls, preferably SonicWALL.
- Knowledgeable in virtualization technologies, including VMware 6.5 and above and Hyper-V.
- Understanding of storage and RAID concepts.
- Experience with Active Directory, including Group Policy, Sites & Services, DNS, DFS, and Certificate Chains.
- Skilled with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, hybrid solutions, migration, and SPAM filters.
- Familiar with hosted and cloud solutions such as Azure and AWS.
- Competent in backup solutions and disaster recovery practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 and Active Directory.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server.
- Knowledgeable in backup technologies and security practices/policies.
- Experience with ConnectWise PSA, Kaseya RMM, and IT Glue or similar tools is preferred.
- Excellent communication and writing abilities; customer-service oriented and able to thrive under pressure.
- This is an in-house position at our Matawan office.
- Must be able to pass a technical and critical thinking exam conducted by us.
- Candidates must reside within a 30-mile radius of Matawan, NJ, as we do not provide sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical problems.
- Support enterprise-level infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced network, server, and security challenges.
- Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers while enhancing their technical capabilities.
- Create documentation of solutions and contribute to improving standards and protocols.
- Address customer support inquiries through various channels including phone, email, chat, and customer portal.
- Manage escalated incidents from Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams, seeing them through to resolution, including intricate server and cloud-related issues.
- Leverage monitoring and cybersecurity systems to assess alerts and alarms.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems jointly.
- Conduct thorough troubleshooting for a range of issues from servers to networks and PCs.
- Deliver high-quality customer service across all communication mediums.
- Work closely with other technicians on escalated customer support cases.
- Develop advanced troubleshooting methodologies and best practice documentation while helping to refine engineering processes.
- Perform root-cause analysis for significant incidents and design long-term strategies for stability and security enhancements.
- Assess and troubleshoot complex issues, maintaining a broad understanding of client environments.
- Engage in continuous educational training to bolster skill sets.
- Participate in infrastructure projects including migrations, deployments, and redesign efforts.
