Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with Agile Teams
- Comprehensive understanding of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies and their foundational principles
- Exceptional skills in facilitation, coaching, and mentoring, including documentation of training to secure a working agreement
- Proven ability to analyze, identify, and resolve team impediments and conflicts
- Experience in managing and prioritizing backlogs in alignment with IT leadership priorities
- Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration among team members, technical leads, architects, project managers, security teams, and stakeholders
- Knowledge of Kanban core principles, including explicit workflow, visualizing work, and limiting work in progress
- Familiarity with Scrum Team best practices, ensuring effective daily scrums, collaboration, alignment, risk analysis, and team dynamics for successful iterative deployments
- Adopting a servant leadership mindset that prioritizes team needs and promotes self-organization
- Proficient with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), ServiceNow (ITSM and Agile Modules), MS Teams, and Office365
- Required Agile Certifications, with a minimum of Scrum Master certification
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and guide training and accountability sessions for IT Team Leads in Scrum events
- Support IT Team Leads in leading Scrum activities such as daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives
- Assist with refining ceremonies for best practices in story writing and task prioritization
- Ensure that IT Team Leads maintain organization, project tool proficiency, and informed participation in meetings
- Train IT Team Leads to coach their teams in Scrum and Kanban principles promoting self-organization and continuous improvement
- Hold team leads accountable for prioritizing operational items that support scrum team success
- Train teams to collaboratively address issues and manage incidents effectively
- Help IT Team Leads identify and eliminate blockers that disrupt team progress
- Collaborate with Technical Leads to maintain a well-managed product backlog in alignment with priorities
- Facilitate continuous improvement through structured retrospectives and the implementation of actionable changes
- Reinforce adherence to Scrum and Kanban frameworks, ensuring best practices are followed
- Coach teams to foster collaboration and ensure effective communication for successful incremental deployments
- Document training materials and best practices for IT Team Leads in a living Working Agreement
Description
We are the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) IT Division, seeking a Scrum Master Coach to facilitate and foster Agile practices within our teams. This hybrid role, located at 600 W Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308, allows for 2-3 days of onsite work.
