Graphics specialist - design and Adobe tools

- Must be a US citizen - Ability to work full-time, on-site at a secure facility in the Washington DC Metro area - Currently possess an active TS SCI security clearance - Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Art Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (Note: Ten years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement) - At least five years of recent experience in a graphic design and multimedia environment - Minimum of one year of experience managing US classified documents - Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office Suite - Strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality design, with an emphasis on alignment, spacing, grammar, and spelling - Deep understanding of production and rendering methods, including drawing, offset printing, photography, and multimedia content - Adept at identifying and solving visual communication problems by analyzing information and generating effective solutions - Familiarity with a range of computer platforms and operating systems, including Mac OS and Windows, along with peripheral equipment - Capable of producing both artistic and technical work of high professional standards - Skilled at transforming abstract concepts into compelling visual representations across different media, adapting graphics for target audiences - Effective communication abilities in both verbal and written forms, capable of explaining technical concepts in accessible terms - Proficient in organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment - Able to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships - Experience in a federal government context or sophisticated design and branding for government agencies - Knowledge of Accessibility & 508 Compliance Responsibilities - Understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards for electronic documents, PDFs, and multimedia content - Proficient in creating visuals that adhere to accessibility guidelines, including contrast and readability - Experience using tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro, PAC 2024, Colour Contrast Analyzer (TPGi), and WAVE for document remediation - Committed to maintaining knowledge of DHS Trusted Tester Methodology for multimedia and document content
