Requirements
Must:
- I have a minimum of 8 years of full-stack software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership position (VP, Head of Engineering, or CTO).
- I possess a proven track record in early-stage or growth-stage startups.
- I've either built or managed the development of freight tech platforms such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), load boards, or similar marketplace logistics tools.
- I have a strong understanding of freight brokerage, trucking, and warehousing operations.
- I am hands-on with modern web technologies including Node.js, Python, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS/GCP.
- I have experience leading remote or hybrid engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- I will lead and develop a high-performance engineering team, both internal and external.
- I will architect and scale robust, secure, and scalable logistics SaaS platforms, specifically TMS and WMS.
- I will oversee all stages of software development: from discovery to design, execution, deployment, and iteration.
- I will collaborate with product and business teams to ensure that technology initiatives align with market demands.
- I will advocate for agile development practices, maintain code quality, and ensure robust testing, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
- I will be responsible for technical hiring, selecting vendors, and making decisions regarding our technology stack.
- I will prepare for scalable growth, focusing on API integrations, multi-tenant infrastructure, data pipelines, and uptime SLAs.
- I will contribute strategically as a member of the executive team.

With a user base exceeding 2,000 and a dynamic team driven by ambitious goals, we are searching for a Vice President of Engineering (similar to a CTO) to enhance our technology, spearhead product delivery, and help shape the future of logistics technology. This role is offered as a full-time position, with an annual salary ranging from $180,000 to $220,000, along with benefits including 401(k), health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off.
