Requirements
Must:
- Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring current or future visa sponsorship
- Strong programming abilities in Golang and Python
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms to optimize resource management
- Familiarity with principles of distributed systems and system design, particularly around resiliency and availability
- Experience or relevant coursework in virtualization and virtual machine management
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid team environment and conduct meaningful code reviews
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree program
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with an emphasis on applying theoretical knowledge practically
- Enthusiasm for developing features that enhance user experience and operational efficiency in cloud environments
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance key features for VM scheduling and live migration utilizing Golang and Python
- Improve the resiliency and availability of distributed system services within the AHV control plane
- Optimize algorithms for efficient VM resource management and performance improvement
- Contribute to creating a cloud-like user experience by enhancing VM mobility and scheduling processes
- Gain insights into service-to-service interactions within the AHV control plane
- Engage in design discussions to devise solutions for system design challenges
- Acquire hands-on experience in the practical application of distributed systems and algorithms
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals
