Requirements
Must:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Over 4 years of experience in database administration
- Proficiency in at least one major RDBMS (such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge in performance tuning and query optimization
- Familiarity with backup and recovery techniques
- Understanding of database security and access controls
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities
Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee enterprise database systems (including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Monitor and assess database performance, availability, and overall health
- Conduct database tuning, indexing, and optimization of queries
- Manage data backups, restorations, and disaster recovery protocols
- Implement and enforce database security measures
- Assist application teams with database-related challenges
- Carry out database patches, upgrades, and migrations
- Diagnose performance issues and system malfunctions
- Maintain comprehensive database documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Provide support for audits, compliance checks, and reporting obligations
- Collaborate with system, network, and application teams
