Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of nine (9) years of experience in COBOL, CICS, DB2 queries, and JCL.
- Familiarity with complex DB2 environments comprising multiple subsystems.
- Proficient in ZOS tools and utilities such as TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JCL, RACF, and REXX.
- Experienced with DB2 tools including SPUFI, QMF or their equivalents.
- Capable of making entries in DB2 utilities.
- Ability to collaborate with IT teams to comprehend requirements and design databases.
- Expertise in evaluating and optimizing SQL queries.
- Solid understanding of the COBOL/CICS/DB2 application programming landscape.
- Strong communication, documentation, and user requirement gathering abilities.
- Skilled in analyzing, debugging, and resolving issues and ABENDs.
- Team-oriented with the capacity to collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, and permanent staff within a complex team framework.
- Preferred: Experience configuring DB2 Connect.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Application Lifecycle Management tools such as LCM, SCLM, RTC, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Perform job functions as per the Scope of Work section.
- Collaborate with IT teams to gather requirements and design effective databases.
- Evaluate and fine-tune SQL queries for optimal performance.
- Analyze and resolve coding issues and ABEND scenarios.
- Document processes, system changes, and user requirements clearly.
- Work closely with other team members, including contractors, consultants, and full-time employees, maintaining a harmonious team environment.
- Utilize ZOS tools and utilities for operational tasks.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Application Systems Analyst with expertise in COBOL to join our team. This role is based in Carson City, Nevada, offering 100% remote work flexibility. Although this is a short-term contract lasting approximately 3 months, there is potential for extension based on project needs. We typically expect 20-30 hours of work per week.
