Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience needed. - At least four (4) years of relevant professional experience in Information Technology support, systems administration, or security operations required. - Familiarity with IP networking, firewall technologies, and least privilege principles necessary. - Proven proficiency in both written and verbal communication essential. - Advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting is advantageous. - Experience in developing monitoring system rules and configurations is preferred. - Familiarity with cloud application security and Role-Based Access Control is a plus. - Background in Identity and Access Management solutions is desirable. - Experience in a higher education environment is strongly favored.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all technology resources to identify vulnerabilities and execute remediation as necessary. - Supervise security infrastructure and address security alerts, incidents, and threats across enterprise systems. - Administer the Colleges enterprise anti-virus software suite to prevent, detect, and address incidents. - Monitor and take action on reports of compromised user accounts and questionable email activity. - Conduct proactive threat hunting to uncover security risks and unusual behavior. - Govern data loss prevention (DLP) policies and monitor for internal risks and attempts at data exfiltration. - Deliver user training on best practices in cyber hygiene and create a security awareness training platform. - Aid in maintaining compliance by implementing technical safeguards and documenting security practices for relevant regulations and frameworks. - May necessitate occasional after-hours monitoring to alert the designated incident responder about critical alerts. - Conduct and support application risk assessments. - Collaborate with vendors for support, implementation, and technical escalation of security tools. - Assess and process system access requests and terminations. - Assist in operational security audits by maintaining and providing documentation of data access levels and logs. - Draft and uphold technical documentation and operational procedures. - Participate in the colleges risk management program by completing mandatory annual compliance training. - Keep up to date with evolving threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices through ongoing research and professional development. - Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Information Officer.
