Requirements

Must:
- 12 years of experience with a Bachelors degree; 10 years with a Masters; or 8 years with a PhD (4 additional years of experience may substitute a degree) - Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance (investigation date within the last 6 years) - 6 years of proven experience in guidance, navigation, or control algorithm development and/or analysis for launch vehicles, missiles, spacecraft, and/or aircraft - 6 years of coding experience in a higher-level programming language (C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.) - 4 years of experience through the complete software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance - 6 years of experience in developing GNC algorithms (Guidance, Navigation, Autopilot) - 6 years of experience with Agile Development and DoDAF standards and methods

Responsibilities

- Lead the technical development of hypersonic navigation algorithms ensuring precision navigation at high Mach numbers during both exo and endo atmospheric flights - Design and implement strap down inertial navigation systems integrated with GPS and Kalman filter techniques - Enhance existing navigation analysis tools with custom features for new missions - Conduct covariance analysis and circular error probable (CEP) accuracy assessments - Participate in engineering review boards, technical interchange meetings, and critical milestone reviews - Contribute to planning and determining resource requirements and IMS development - Report incremental performance improvements - Address analysis package requests - Perform trajectory assessments and flight analyses - Gather and analyze mission requirements to ensure objectives and constraints are met - Collaborate with GN&C engineers in an Agile environment to achieve critical milestones - Develop and analyze GNC algorithms (Guidance, Navigation, Autopilot) - Integrate vehicle navigation algorithms into 6 degree of freedom (6dof) simulations - Verify and validate complex 6 degree of freedom vehicle models - Model missile components such as inertial measurement units (IMU) and thrust vector control (TVC) systems - Utilize C++ and MATLAB with Object-Oriented design - Collaborate on multidisciplinary research with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers using M&S systems for critical analysis - Work with the GN&C Flight Software Team to automatically generate code from high-level specifications ensuring consistency and reducing errors
