Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline with over 20 years of relevant experience
- 18+ years of experience with a Masters degree, or 15+ years with a PhD
- Proven history of leadership in software engineering within defense or aerospace contexts
- Current active Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance
- Extensive experience managing large-scale and complex software projects from initiation to deployment
- Strong expertise in software architecture and configuration management
- Familiarity with rigorous software-quality metrics and validation practices
- Knowledge of advanced software engineering methodologies, Agile practices, DevSecOps principles, and digital transformation
- Exceptional analytical capabilities to integrate data-driven insights into solutions
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders across software and hardware frameworks
Responsibilities
- Define and enhance the baseline software architecture and roadmap for the Advanced Weapons business unit, including critical interfaces and performance parameters
- Establish and update integrated development environment standards that foster efficiency and technical excellence
- Develop and enforce stringent software-quality metrics, manage configuration control of source code and binaries, and oversee verification activities for compliance
- Coordinate with senior technical leaders to drive technical rigor and resolve complex software challenges
- Work closely with program Chief Engineers and software leads to ensure high-quality software releases and continuous process improvement
- Serve as the strategic steward for the software technical baseline, ensuring architecture remains current, secure, and aligned with long-term goals
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and thought leadership to software teams within the Advanced Weapons portfolio
- Collaborate with AW engineering functions and product line leaders to align technical strategies and deliver cohesive solutions
- Influence annual operating plans and long-term strategic direction through data-informed insights and vision
