Requirements
Must:
- A Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution along with 9 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Masters degree with 6 years of experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience
- Current Department of Defense Secret clearance or Department of Energy L clearance with a background investigation dated within the last 10 years
- Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering best practices and the entire software development lifecycle
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role
- Familiarity with DevOps practices
- Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance as required
- Ability to acquire and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance as needed
Responsibilities
- Conduct performance evaluations, staffing, employee development, regular communication meetings, disciplinary actions, compensation adjustments, and training supervision/approval
- Establish and maintain common processes and practices in collaboration with managers across our sector
- Create requirements and negotiate with clients as necessary; design and develop software in a team setting; provide technical guidance to junior engineers and leadership during software integration in a laboratory setting, including the development of comprehensive documentation for the software life cycle
- Collaborate closely with systems engineering, software development, and management teams for seamless software lifecycle completion with high standards of quality and efficiency
- Monitor both the quality and timeliness of our deliverables, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively
- Create and oversee detailed budgets and schedules, assigning tasks for indirect responsibilities
