Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and 9 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Masters degree in a STEM field and 7 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field and 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Prior experience in agile development, including roles such as Product Owner, SCRUM Master, or team member in an Agile environment.
- Experience in developing software for real-time applications, such as flight-critical, safety-critical, medical, or mission-critical software.
- At least 4 years of recent experience with two of the following programming or scripting languages: C, C++, and Python.
- Familiarity with one of the following real-time operating systems: Wind River VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, or Realtime Linux.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance, with a background investigation completed within the last 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access through a Program Access Request (PAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR once in role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Software Development, Systems Engineering, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test teams to ensure mission engineering objectives are achieved.
- Act as work package manager, overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of software products to the next integration level while satisfying cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Manage a software development team of approximately 10-20 members in an Agile environment.
- Utilize Agile Metrics and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to report on budget, scope, and schedule progress.
- Facilitate risk management processes and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Engage in the complete software development life cycle, covering design, implementation, testing, and delivery of software products.
- Participate in Agile Scrum teams to develop software components for various baselines.
- Assist in allocating and planning tasks as part of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) based on Budget Advice and associated technical assessments.
- Oversee the quality and timeliness of product deliverables, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Support program reviews as required.
- Provide functional management for direct reports, covering career advice, performance evaluation, hiring, disciplinary actions, and engagement.
