Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution and 8 years of related experience, or a Masters Degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD in STEM.
- Strong understanding of system engineering processes and principles, with a demonstrated ability to apply them in creating product solutions.
- Experience in software development and requirements verification.
- Proficient in DOORS, Cameo, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Prior involvement in a large-scale missile defense system such as Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD).
- Ability to think critically and clearly articulate concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions.
- Experience as a Product Owner or leading a technical team of five or more individuals.
- Adept in estimating, planning, and scheduling software development tasks for a technical group.
- Proven capability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a closed-area and in-person setting.
- Hold a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, a requirement for starting.
- Ability and readiness to travel up to 10% of the time as needed for business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as Product Owner and contribute to the Systems Engineering Team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product.
- Develop and support the requirements process that directly aids in the design and development of GWS capabilities for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
- Manage the teams roadmap, vision for products, and estimate work necessary to fulfill capabilities.
- Plan and coordinate the teams work, producing metrics indicating progress and presenting these to program leadership.
- Allocate around 25% of work to Product Owner responsibilities and 75% to providing technical support to the Systems Engineering team.
