Requirements

Must:
- A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Masters degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree - A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application - Strong verbal and written communication capabilities, coupled with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment - Solid experience in software engineering and development, particularly with strong Java/J2EE proficiency - Familiarity with software practices including coding standards, automated testing, build pipelines, and configuration management - Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux, with Windows experience also being advantageous - Extensive knowledge of Java Foundation Classes and associated toolkits - Proficient problem-solving skills, including the capacity to analyze performance and operational issues, identify root causes, and propose, design, and implement solutions - Proficient in using standard software development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse - Experience with Agile development methodologies - Understanding of standard systems engineering design artifacts, including Use Cases and SysML diagrams

Responsibilities

- Conduct in-depth analyses and provide technical support for systems software products, including resolving complex issues, as well as design, development, testing, operational integration, and user assistance - Keep software products current, debug, and configure as necessary - Create or update operating system applications based on provided specifications - Assist in the design, coding, benchmarking, debugging, and documentation of software programs - Collaborate with system support groups to resolve issues, set standards, and improve overall operational efficiency - Design, code, test, and implement tools to automate operations - Participate in various phases of software systems programming applications, requiring minimal instruction and guidance in some areas - Potentially lead small software-focused teams
