Requirements

Must:
- For the Principal Software Engineer role (T03): - A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of applicable experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years, or a PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience. - An active Top Secret security clearance. - Willingness to meet specific customer security screening requirements as determined by management. - Ability to work on-site full-time. - Proficient in C/C++ programming. - Familiarity with current C++ standards and features. - Demonstrated ability to analyze system requirements for software design and performance needs. - Proven skills in designing and coding new software, as well as enhancing existing software to introduce new functionalities. - Ability to debug software and rectify any defects. - Experience with open software/system architecture solutions. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. - Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Git-based or other configuration management tools. - For the Senior Principal Software Engineer role (T04): - A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of applicable experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years, or a PhD with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. - All other requirements are consistent with those for the Principal role.

Responsibilities

In this position, I will provide technical leadership to junior software engineers. My main tasks will involve: - Developing software using C/C++ to modernize and productionize a research codebase, incorporating contemporary C++ features. - Creating software infrastructure to support CI/CD, collect software metrics, and facilitate MLOps. - Implementing software systems, applications, and architectures that enhance modularity, scalability, and reliability while maintaining precision, accuracy, and speed to fulfill performance standards. - Ensuring adherence to industry software engineering best practices and standards. - Collaborating closely with Software Leads and Architects to grasp program objectives, system capabilities, and output requirements.

Compensation for this role varies depending on qualifications and responsibilities, with salaries ranging from $110,300 to $165,500 for the Principal level and from $137,400 to $206,000 for the Senior Principal level. Additional benefits are provided, including health insurance, retirement plans, holiday pay, and paid time off.
