Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with relevant experience (5 years for Principal Engineer, 8 years for Senior Principal Engineer) or higher degrees with less experience
- Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- Experience with electrical circuit rad-hard design and analysis for radiation compliance
- Knowledge of nuclear weapons effects and resulting Transient Radiation Effects on Electronics (TREE)
- Familiarity with technical planning, specification requirements derivation, and system validation
- Previous experience working with federal agencies and industry laboratories
- Ability to travel 20% of the time
- Experience with nuclear survivability design and analysis of radiation environments
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the NH&S team to develop designs and mitigation strategies for weapon systems
- Generate design criteria supported by simulations and system level studies
- Document equipment compliance and system certification through Design Analysis Reports (DAR)
- Lead evaluations for compliance with operationally relevant nuclear threat environments
- Prepare and present technical artifacts supporting compliance during Design Reviews
- Evaluate uncertainty and risks associated with rad-hard requirements and propose mitigation strategies
- Represent Northrop Grumman as a technical expert at various levels including with DoD customers
