Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5 years of relevant experience in Object Oriented Languages (OOL) for Principal Software Engineer; 8 years for Senior Principal
- Proven expertise in software design principles and proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C, C++
- Experience with leading complete software development projects with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and high-quality software solutions
- Familiarity with scripting languages, particularly KornShell or Bash
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Effective collaboration with engineers in time-sensitive projects
- Strong multi-tasking and time-management capabilities
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems to manage battlefield data
- Assess user needs and analyze system capabilities to identify and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with software standards and best practices
- Provide technical leadership and support to team members throughout the software life cycle
- Manage software builds across various versions and configurations
- Conduct verification tests to validate software requirements and prepare inspection reports
- Work collaboratively with diverse technical and program teams to enhance Army command and control systems
