Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields and 20 years of relevant experience; or 18 years with a Master's degree; or 15 years with a Ph.D.
- A minimum of 10 years in data infrastructure, DevOps, and data engineering, including 3 years in a leadership or senior technical position.
- An active Secret Security Clearance.
- Proven experience in architecting scalable, secure, and cost-effective data platforms, ideally utilizing cloud-based solutions.
- Demonstrated ability in leading large-scale projects from concept to deployment and managing multidisciplinary teams, driving success through strategic vision and strong leadership.
- A successful track record in providing data-driven insights at scale, employing data engineering, integration, and science practices.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and leadership stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
In this role, my expectations for you will include:
- Developing and executing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with our organizational goals, focusing on digital engineering, the digital thread, and advanced analytics across weapon system design, manufacturing, and sustainment.
- Overseeing the design, implementation, and upkeep of scalable data infrastructure, which includes data creation/collection, storage, management, integration, and analysis.
- Leading and governing the use of the program's data infrastructure and capabilities to ensure seamless data flow and traceability across engineering, supply chain, and operational systems, including functional allocated and product baseline data from our suppliers.
- Driving innovation and the adoption of data science, machine learning, and AI to enhance program performance.
- Collaborating with engineering and business leaders to align data initiatives with corporate goals, such as leveraging AI, digital twins, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and Industry 4.0 adoption.
- Developing and enabling a program data risk management process in concert with program risk management.
- Staying informed of current and emerging trends and technologies in data management and analytics, ensuring proper utilization where applicable.
- Mentoring and building a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Serving as a thought leader, representing our company at industry forums, conferences, and with government and commercial partners.
