Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 2 years of relevant experience, OR Master of Science in a STEM field and no experience for the Systems Modeling Simulation Engineer level
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 5 years of relevant experience, OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 3 years of relevant experience, OR PhD in STEM field and 1 year of relevant experience for the Principal Modeling Simulation Systems Engineer level
- Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Proven expertise in using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
- Proficient in MATLAB or Python programming languages
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Experience in threat and weapon system modeling
- Ability to function both independently and as part of a team, whether virtually or in-person
- Must pass screenings for Enhanced Security Clearances in a timely manner as required by business needs
Responsibilities
- Support the Advanced Programs Mission Engineering Team with operational analyses for offensive and defensive weapon systems
- Engage in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) projects within the scope
- Develop and analyze models and simulations using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
- Define and create suitable representations for systems or system elements
- Utilize representations to extract actionable insights about real systems
- Interpret AFSIM outputs, validate them against Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs), and derive conclusions for weapon-system performance enhancements
- Provide technical leadership and manage specified components of the AFSIM modeling and simulation products
- Convert simulation results into clear data metrics and support briefings for Northrop Grumman leadership and customers
