Requirements
Must:

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for data pipelines, software applications, and system integrations.
- Analyze substantial datasets utilizing tools like Hadoop, Spark, Apache Hive, and Informatica to identify inconsistencies and ensure data quality.
- Design and optimize database schemas and data warehouse structures using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational databases.
- Create automation scripts employing Shell Scripting, Bash (Unix shell), Python, VBA, or similar tools to enhance testing workflows.
- Work collaboratively with development teams using Agile methodologies to incorporate quality assurance within the software development process.
- Monitor system performance and carry out root cause analysis to resolve data quality or system failure issues.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in data security, privacy, and reliability.
- Maintain clear documentation of testing procedures, results, and defect reports for stakeholder review.
- Stay abreast of new trends in Big Data analytics, cloud solutions like AWS, and data management tools to continuously improve testing methodologies.
Description
We are excited to invite a highly talented and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our vibrant team. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and quality of our data systems and software products. You will have the opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art technologies such as AWS, Big Data, and Data Warehouse solutions in a dynamic environment that champions innovation and ongoing enhancement. As a Quality Engineer, you will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to establish, implement, and uphold quality standards that support our organizational objectives. This is a hybrid remote position based in Toronto, ON, offered as a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with pay ranging from $43.00 to $45.00 per hour and expected hours of 40 per week.
