Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
- Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a principal or senior technical leadership role.
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and scaling distributed systems and high-traffic applications.
- In-depth knowledge of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience with cloud architectures (AWS preferred) and Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g., Terraform, Serverless Framework).
- Demonstrated leadership across technical initiatives impacting multiple teams or systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions at the organizational level.
Responsibilities
- Architect and Design: Lead the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems and APIs that drive critical business functions.
- Technical Leadership: Establish and uphold best practices for code quality, testing, performance, and security.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers, promoting growth and technical excellence across the team.
- Innovation: Research and implement modern technologies that enhance developer productivity, system reliability, and performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management to align business priorities with long-term technical investments.
- Operational Ownership: Ensure the reliability, observability, and maintainability of systems through effective monitoring, alerting, and automation.
- Security and Compliance: Advocate for secure coding practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability management, including Snyk integrations.
- Agile Delivery: Lead and participate in all phases of the Agile lifecycle, from planning to release.
- Culture and Inclusion: Cultivate a culture of collaboration, ownership, and ongoing learning across teams.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to become an integral part of our Development team in Orem, UT, with a hybrid working model. This position offers a salary range of $160,000 to $190,000. As a hands-on technical leader, you will drive the architecture, design, and development of scalable and high-performance systems across our platform. You will work alongside engineering leadership, product teams, and various stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality software solutions.
