Requirements
Must:
- Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance is essential.
- DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications are mandatory.
- Required certifications: Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent (e.g., BCNE for Brocade).
- 2-3 years of experience in network support or IT infrastructure.
- Bachelors degree in a technical field and 2 years of related experience, or a Technical/Vocational certification with 3 years of experience.
- Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, and basic routing protocols.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper switch/router configuration.
- Knowledge of communication standards such as 802.1d/q/w, 802.3, and 802.11 wireless.
- Hands-on experience with SolarWinds for monitoring and basic troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of network security principles: firewalls and VPN concepts.
- Experience with cable termination, certification tools, and troubleshooting at the physical layer.
- Proficient in Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet operations.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for Windows OS and Active Directory.
- Experience with ServiceNow for ticket management and documentation.
- Understanding of network requirements specific to medical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary on-site 24/7 network support contact for the assigned MTF.
- Conduct daily operations and maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and controllers.
- Create and manage VLANs in line with DHA Zone Architecture Requirements.
- Resolve network connectivity problems and collaborate with GSC for escalations.
- Install, test, terminate, and certify network cabling (materials provided by the Government).
- Perform device configuration and firmware updates according to DHA standards.
- Monitor network operations via SolarWinds NPM and ensure all devices meet compliance.
- Conduct monthly hardware inventory checks for Asset Management (CDRL A010).
- Address and resolve Tier 0 trouble tickets without escalation to GSC.
- Coordinate with site personnel on network-related tasks and service impacts.
- Assist with DHA Infrastructure Modernization hardware refresh initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support at the assigned location.
